5 ways to make a small room look bigger

The struggle of living in a small space is real. While a small home can have its pros (cosey, low maintenance, cheaper bills), there is a constant struggle to make the most of the space you have, especially if you live with multiple people.
We’ve got some great tips on how you can make the most of a small room and create the illusion of space.
1. Keep it light and bright
It may sound boring, but it’s true! Light walls really do open up a space. If you enjoy colour too, this can be added with furniture and accessories such as chairs, wall art, cushions and throws.
2. Mirrors are your friend
Mirrors are a great way to open a space and make a room look larger. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
3. Consider transparent furniture

Experiment with furniture that allows light through, metal chairs, hairpin table legs, transparents shelves and tables - the choice is yours.

4. Off the floor
Where possible, try and keep items off the floor. This can cause a cluttered appearance. Shelves to store items are a great way to maximise space.
5. Floor to ceiling accents
Floor to ceiling curtains are a great way to create an illusion of space and stop the room from feeling closed
